Att behålla bollen inom laget eller possession, som det fint heter, har kommit att bli ett koncept som har blivit mycket omdiskuterat. Varför, är frågan som många ställer sig, och det enkla svaret är väl, att det är roligare att ha bollen i sitt eget lag än att det är att springa runt efter bollen och försöka ta bollen från motståndarlaget. Är det någon tränare som inte håller med?  Fråga gärna era unga spelare om hur roligt det är att inte vara involverad under match eller träning. 

Den stora skillnaden mellan att lära ut bollinnehav och att lära sig dribbla de första åren av sin fotbolls utbildning är att vid bollinnehavs utbildning lär manlig att alltid vara involverad i tanken 

Att även om bollen inte är i närheten så måste varje spelare för sig ta beslut om hur den individen ska placera sig för att hjälpa sitt lag och för att kunna ta emot bollen på en plats som gör att spelaren kan behandla bollen utan stress med sin tekniska förmåga.
